Job Description
The selected candidate will provide engineering services for a variety of government Audio Visual (AV) / Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems including performing site surveys, writing statements of requirements, developing cost estimates, presenting design reviews to customers, creating schematic technical design drawings, and developing equipment bill of materials for integrating various type of audio, visual, network, and control components.
Responsibilities: Provides subject matter expert (SME) support and serves as a technical reference to government customers, sponsors, and other AV/VTC engineers.
Participates in design team efforts reviewing drawings and equipment lists to ensure systems meet all requirements.
Assists project management with integration scheduling and material purchasing.
Assists control system programmer and system commissioner with acceptance test and end user training documentation.
Troubleshoots audio, visual, and control system issues.
Effectively uses audio and video flow including AEC and EDID principals.
Remains up to date on new and emerging technology.
Provides 3D renderings to communicate conceptual design.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St.
Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Some relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidate.
Applicants must be currently residing in or willing to relocate to St.
Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's degree and minimum of 6 years AV/VTC experience or high school diploma and a minimum of 10 years AV /VTC experience - AV/VTC system design and installation experience with the following equipment - Manufacturer Certifications from one or more of the following: Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Clearone, Cisco - Excellent customer-facing skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to government customers and sponsors - Ability to work independently in developing complex technical solutions - 2D CAD drawing development (Visio, or equivalent) - CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline - Understanding of Information Assurance (IA) TEMPEST and ICD705 - Knowledge of building construction methods and materials - Prior Military, DoD, or IC experience Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
