We are currently seeking candidates to fill a CBA – ALQ Airborne Integrated Jamming System Technician opening in support of Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL) - Patuxent River, MD.
Job Details/Description Aircraft Mechanics/ Technicians inspect, diagnose, repair and monitor aircraft and aircraft systems such as structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, engines, power, and electrical/ electronic systems and components as assigned to work centers.
The mechanic receives technical guidance from team leads and or supervisors, which may be more senior mechanics, and based on skill and ability may be assigned as team leads for relevant tasks.
Uses hand tools, power tools, machines and ancillary equipment required to perform assigned task.
Read and interpret service and manufacturer maintenance manuals, instructions, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of maintaining and repairing malfunctioning aircraft, aircraft systems, or ancillary equipment.
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Commercial derivative aircraft require A&P certification.
Experience: Relevant aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, modification, and flight-line operations performance within NAVAIRINST 3710.
1(series) or CNAFINST 4790.
2 (series) equivalent maintenance systems (not required with Trade, A&P, FAA Certification).
Specific experience with the platform to be supported for the work position (may be waived with submittal of an approved training plan).
Demonstrated use of technical publications and guidance.
Demonstrated experience with aircraft and equipment logs and records.
Mechanical support positions require a broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
Electrical and Avionic positions must have basic knowledge of electrical theory and thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, indicators, and meters.
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks for ALQ TJS and Support Equipment.
Perform maintenance, test, evaluation, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of the AN/ALQ Countermeasures System, UEU, and other Avionics systems.
Test electronic circuits and components to locate and replace defective components using appropriate electronic test equipment and hand tools.
Perform detailed corrosion inspections on inducted components.
Apply technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and restore equipment operation.
Repairs and upgrades various avionics cable harnesses.
Install electrical cables, connectors, and assemblies as well as mechanical components of various complexities.
Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
Services ground support equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance inspections on all ground support equipment.
Performs functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting as required and trained.
Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.
Effectively task and direct subordinate personnel through daily assignment of tasks.
Inspect and maintain GFE, as well as, conduct periodic inventory of all assigned equipment.
Report violations of Work Rules, Policies and Procedures to appropriate level.
Responsible for complying with most recent policies and procedures.
Operates motor vehicles, machines and special purpose equipment as required by the job assignment.
Performs PMCS and inspection documentation on vehicles, tools and equipment.
Performs housekeeping duties in work and common areas.
Ensures that tools and equipment used by the employee in the classification are properly calibrated.
Uses most current approved methods and publications in the performance of the assigned job.
Performs the duties of lower classified employees within the line of progression when assigned.
Completes and maintains records and reports as required by job assignment.
Demonstrates job procedures and assists in the on-the-job training (OJT) of employees within the classification as required.
Handles and disposes of hazardous materials related to job assignment in accordance with company and OSHA policies and procedures.
Performs duties using automated equipment and software utilized in the functional assignment.
Ability to perform Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA) functions for aviation maintenance performed.
Responsible for complying with corporate and installation physical security requirements.
Comply with all OSHA and Safety standards.
Responsible for daily entry of individual hours worked in company timekeeping system Makes appropriate logbook entries and documents own work accomplished.
Performs aircraft functional checks as required.
Performs related record maintenance including: completing appropriate log book forms, condition tags and parts requests in accordance with technical publications, Company procedures manuals and other written and oral directives.
Uses blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers draw Other desired experience: Two years NAWC/ NAVAIR experience.
Experience performing functional duties independently.
Knowledge of supply/ logistics policies and procedures.
Travel Required Yes.
