Description:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for providing secure/non-secure Information System (IS) support to the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) testing lab systems infrastructure.
They will preserve mission operations through the delivery of SA functions to our nation's warfighters.
They will carry out functions supporting system Users, Information System Security Officers (ISSO), Information System Security Manager (ISSM), and the Lab Manager by providing system administration and services to the continuous monitor program for Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization processes.
The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, capable of working in a very dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues/installation
Provisioning of user accounts and maintenance
Manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems
Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
Create and verify backups of data
Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, servers, databases, malware protection software and other processes
Perform audit log reviews and support for classified workstations
Install, configure, and test computer-related equipment
Requirements:
Top Secret Clearance
Three years of experience performing System Administration tasks
BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or AA/AS with 7 total years experience
Experience working with the following: SharePoint, Encryption protocols, System configuration/patching, MS Office tools, Linux, Windows 10, Server 2016 or newer
Ability to troubleshoot connectivity/software integration issues
Familiarity with deploying and testing Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)s
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to TOP SECRET classified information; U.
S.
citizenship
CompTIA Security+ or DoD IAT 2/IAM 1 level equivalent certification
Must possess or be able to obtain Linux+ Certification within 6 months
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
Experience using the Risk Management Framework for continuous monitoring of classified systems
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7,8, or 9 or Linux Equivalent
Experience implementing and validating Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tools
Familiarity with NIST Special Publications 800 Series
Three years of experience in the use of software applications to support Engineering for Naval Aviation
