Dixon Valve seeks a Process Engineer to join their Boss Division in Chestertown, Maryland.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for all facets of manufacturing using sound engineering principles to maintain and improve processes, develop work holding, design fixtures, and create work instructions.
Excellent communication skills are required as you will be interacting with associates at all levels.
Primary Responsibilities:
Define or assist in defining manufacturing process steps and sequences of operations
Develop man/machine cycle time documentation based on process / process steps
Develop, implement, monitor and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and workflow.
Develop working instructions, workmanship standards and process documents.
Evaluate and improve existing processes to reduce machine cycle time and enhance product quality
Investigate manufacturing issues, report findings, and recommend solutions.
Identify and recommend methods or equipment that will improve quality and reduce production costs.
Work with other departments to estimate manufacturing costs, and cost reduction activities.
Evaluate the effects raw materials and other process variables have on product properties and recommend appropriate changes.

Calm under pressure – Must be able to troubleshoot at an advanced level.
Manufacturing issues can delay production, they must be able to come up with effective working solutions quickly
Hands On and Self Motivated – At least 50% of this work is conducted on the shop floor and will require a certain level of understanding of machine operation.
Commercial awareness – must be able to correlate manufacturing cost to part price
Critical/logical thinking – Assess manufacturing processes, document existing or potential issues, evaluate potential solutions and implement best practices to reduce defects, rework and scrap.
Excellent computer skills – design, simulation and office products are essential to this role
Analytical skills – Analyze and interpret data and make data-driven decisions, organize and prioritize multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Creative thinking and excellent problem solving skills – Must be able to solve problems in unique and innovative ways.
Willing to challenge traditional wisdom to see past what is established.

Experience working with sand castings, machined castings, or CNC machined metal parts
