Utility Locate Technician

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Utility Line Locator to join our team.
As a Utility Line Locator, you will be responsible for locating and marking underground utility lines to ensure the safety and integrity of excavation projects.
This is a vital role in preventing accidents and damage to utility infrastructure.
Responsibilities: - Conduct land surveys to accurately locate underground utility lines - Use specialized equipment and techniques to identify and mark the location of utility lines - Collaborate with construction crews and contractors to ensure safe excavation practices - Perform field service work, including locating, marking, and documenting utility lines - Operate locate equipment - Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and diagrams to determine the location of utility lines - Maintain accurate records of located utility lines and provide documentation to relevant parties - Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks during excavation projects Requirements: - Previous experience in utility locating, land surveying, or related field is preferred - Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure systems and their markings - Proficient in using specialized equipment for utility line locating - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and diagrams accurately - Familiarity with relevant equipment - Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations - Effective communication skills to collaborate with construction crews and contractors - Excellent driving record - Ability to work independently Note: This position will require traveling within the designated work area.
