is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.
ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world’s premier systems.

Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Position will be a part of an established Marine Operations division that supports multiple systems on a variety of projects nationwide on land and at sea.
Provide support to the Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations Division on the east and west coast.
Majority of work performed locally, on the East Coast, at the Patuxent River facility.
Fabricate, manufacture, and repair metal parts.
Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output.
Produce strong, clean welds and test outputs to ensure strength and tolerance of welds.
Provide engineering techniques, principles and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, evaluate and/or operate electrical, mechanical and associated support equipment of facilities.
Plan and perform tests and evaluations on systems, equipment and/or components.
Practice standard work methods on recurring assignments and follow explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments.
Participate in training to learn functions beyond normal operations, such as marine operations at sea.
Work with a high level of technical adequacy.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Experience, Skills, and Requirements:
Must have a minimum of eight years’ experience in performing the stated requirements or similar functions
Eight years of prior work experience welding, fabricating and finishing of metals.
Proficient with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG, with applicable certifications desired.
Physically capable of transferring between vessels at sea.
Must be a self-starter and be able to use initiative to work with minimal supervision.
Must be flexible and team oriented.
Ability to travel 40% of the year and support other ATMO locations
Overtime and occasional weekend work as necessary.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a passport.
Education Required:
High School diploma or equivalent
Post high school, technical school training with applicable certifications desired.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and hold a United States Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
All candidates will be required to pass a drug screening.
Work Conditions:
Conditions will vary daily
Most work performed in enclosed buildings, some outside work may be required.
Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching.
Applicant should be capable of lifting, pushing or pulling 100lbs.
Visual abilities needed include close vision depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
