Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector IV ***Work Location: Wallops Island, VA*** Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview REQUIREMENT: Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen Duties/Responsibilities: The QA Inspector shall have heavy experienced with Civil and Structural projects.
Projects may include demolition (including asbestos removal), earthwork, utilities, pavements, structural steel, concrete, and airfield runway construction.
Experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, controls systems, fire protection, high and low voltage electrical, and fire alarm work is a plus.
Due to the nature of the research and development work done at the GSFC, projects may involve special systems and construction requirements.
The QA inspector shall perform Stormwater and Erosion Sediment Control Construction Site Inspections for designated projects in accordance with VA ESC requirements.
The Inspector shall maintain current VA Department of Environmental Combined Quality Storm Water Management and Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector certification.
Advanced knowledge of the construction industry in applicant’s area of expertise.
General knowledge of all construction trades and scheduling.
Competency in OSHA regulations involving grading, trenching, etc.
Education/Experience: High School (HS) Diploma A minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction industry A minimum of 10 years of prior quality assurance experience Competency in OSHA regulations Current certification for Construction Quality Management for Contractors Current certification for OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Course Working knowledge of GSFC procedures specifically related to construction.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
Physical Requirements: Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments Ability to carry required instruments and equipment.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
