Responsibilities
Peraton, a $7B, with 22,000 employee enterprise focused on solving difficult challenges for US national security, is recruiting a Propulsion Ordnance Engineer to support facility operations on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Specifically, our Launch Solutions Operating Unit provides engineering, manufacturing, and test operations for missile defense customers such as the Army, Navy, Air Force, and commercial programs.
Our growing team, based from our Princess Anne, MD industrial facility, supports 10-15 missile defense launch operations per year at various launch locations worldwide.
Our rural location on the Delmarva Peninsula is ideally suited for outdoor recreation activities such as beach, biking, boating, fishing and hunting.
Demonstrate working knowledge of initiation and control systems such as HEFU's, LEFU's, capacitive discharge ignition systems, ordnance safeties, isolation circuits and resistance measuring devices.
Comply with Military guiding standards for handling, design ,and safety such as Navy OP-05 instruction, Mil-Std-1316 to include qual/cert programs and ESQD calculations.
Develop procedures for safe and effective use of ordnance and other energetic systems.
Prepare and present design review packages related to solid rocket motors and other ordnance
Perform ordnance engineering tasks related to solid rocket motors and other ordnance, such as gas pressure cartridges, solid rocket motor initiation, guillotine cutters, explosive bolts and nuts, and threat representative warhead packages.
Demonstrated experience in providing supervision of energetic processing personnel, and facilities.
Demonstrated knowledge of rocket motor static fire requirements to include test stand design and implementation, instrumentation to include thrust, thermal and plume monitoring, and applicable safety standards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
BS degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable engineering, computer science, physics or mathematics, or business discipline.
Ten plus years of Engineering experience
Secret Clearance
Eight years professional experience in rocket propulsion development to include at least two or more of the following duties: propellant development, rocket motor production development, aging criteria, throat design, rocket nozzle development to include thrust vector control nozzle.
Experience with suborbital rockets
Ability to travel
Desired Qualifications:
MS degree in Mechanical Engineering
8 years of rocket propulsion experience
Experience in design, development and production of solid propellant rocket motors.
Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000.
This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
