Introduction
The School of Business and Technology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applications from candidates with a passion for teaching, mentoring, and applied research in the area of construction management and engineering for a full-time 9-month Assistant/Associate/Professor (Tenure or Tenure-Track) position to support the Master of Science in Data Science and Engineering Analytics in addition to the Construction Management Technology degree program located at either Princess Anne, MD campus or the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) located in Rockville, Maryland.
About the Department
The Department of the Built Environment has four (4) full-time faculty and approximately 75 students enrolled in the following academic programs: a BS in Construction Management Technology, a BS in Technology and Engineering Education, and an M.
Ed.
in Career and Technology Education which is offered at the Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI) in Baltimore, Maryland.
About the School
The School is home to five academic departments: Business Management, and Accounting; Engineering and Aviation Sciences; Hospitality and Tourism Management; Computer Science and Engineering Technology; and The Built Environment.
Additionally, the School offers several of its programs at the University System of Maryland (USM) regional centers and off-campus locations including the Universities at Shady Grove, USM-Hagerstown, and the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
About the University
Enrolling over 2,200 students, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is a land-grant, historically black college founded in 1886 as the Delaware Conference Academy.
Since its beginning, the institution has had several name changes and governing bodies.
It was Maryland State College from 1948 until 1970 when it became one of the five campuses that formed the University of Maryland.
In 1988, it became a member of the then eleven campuses (now thirteen) of the University System of Maryland (USM).
UMES is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The University is located approximately 15 miles south of Salisbury, Maryland within easy commuting distance to Baltimore, Washington D.

, Philadelphia, and New York.
Responsibilities
Teach and contribute service to their discipline, the university, and to the community.
Advise students and to interact with local businesses/industries related to their discipline.
Teaching assignments will be from a wide range of construction topics with more focus on construction management courses.
The incumbent will be expected to have current professional knowledge of construction management and related fields.

Required Qualifications
An earned terminal degree from a regionally accredited U.
S.
institution of higher learning with a major field of study in Design, Construction, and Planning, Civil Engineering, Planning, Design and Built Environment, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline with an emphasis on construction.
Demonstrated expertise in construction management computer applications, especially in areas of data analysis methods in construction; smart, sustainable, and resilient buildings, infrastructure systems, and cities; big data analytics and machine learning; and building energy.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of teaching excellence at a post-secondary institution,
A record of scholarship; publications, presentations, and grant proposals,
Experience with online course development and instruction,
Experience with and/or knowledge of ACCE or ABET accreditation,
Experience working with culturally diverse populations,
Fluent oral and written communication skills,
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others, and
Dedication to actively providing leadership to students through student club sponsorship, competition team coaching, organizing, and implementing similar student activities.
