*Naval Architect & Marine Engineer*

We are seeking talented Naval Architects and Marine Engineers in our Salisbury, MD shipyard that have a wide range of naval architecture and mechanical engineering skills.
The Naval Architects will be responsible for generating preliminary designs to final layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, bill of materials, sketches, and diagrams for all aspects of new construction cruise ships and tugs.
This position is located in Salisbury, MD.
*Responsibilities:*
* Apply knowledge of commercial ship systems including HVAC, Structures, Stability, Electrical Distribution, Piping Systems, Main Propulsion, Navigation Systems, General Arrangements, etc.
for compliance to 46 Code of Federal Regulations.
* Generate detailed design that include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacturing.
* Have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
* Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete engineering mathematical calculations.
* Ability to evaluate stability to the standards in 46 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Subchapter S, using GHS.
* Ability to create vessel designs compliant with the standards in 46 CFR T, K, F, and J as well as ABS Steel Vessel Rules.
* Proficient in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
* Shoot elevations using a transit.
* Assist production crews on the lay-out and fit-up of steel and aluminum assemblies.
* Seek quotes for equipment and parts needed for production and fabrication.
* Learn new engineering skills as they apply to commercial shipbuilding.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field is desired and 5 years minimum experience.
* Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills: verbal and written English is mandatory.
* Experience with Excel, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or SolidWorks as well as experience with other engineering software such as Rhino.
* Applicant must be able to take detailed verbal direction and deliver accurate drawings.
* Strong attention to quality, organization skills, computing, and presentation skills.
* Strong work ethic and dedication.
* Must work well in a team dynamic.
*Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to work remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
* Ability to perform repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
* Ability be physically able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
* Ability to climb ladders, and comply with OSHA standards
