We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Intern to join our Soybean Crushing team in Salisbury, MD.
Perdue's 10-week Summer Internship program is designed to combine knowledge learned in the classroom with meaningful, real-world experiences by providing an introduction to college students seeking a career in agriculture with an understanding of the business, safety, and environmental requirements to manage and operate an agricultural business.
The Operations Intern will be responsible for the day-to-day assistance in the supervision of all operators to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner, and assisting in promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the group.
The internship will be tailored to the interests of the intern and experience level to maximize the learning experience.
The intern will be fully immersed and actively participate in all aspects of business in an operational facility
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop an understanding of the agricultural business processes
Develop an understanding of the OSHA safety processes and requirements of an agricultural business
Develop an understanding of the Local, State, and Federal environmental processes and requirements of an agricultural business
To perform assigned research and project work related to an agricultural business
To perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor and the assigned mentor
Minimum Education
Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in AgriBusiness, Business, Agriculture, Ag Economics or related field

Experience Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well within a team setting, as well as independently
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate in a team atmosphere
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Climbing vertical heights (0 - 150')
Carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds)
Exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%) noise (50db to 100db), and chemicals (MSDS sheets available)
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to wear protective equipment
