Job Summary:
Do you have experience with commercial glazed curtain wall systems? storefront and entrances? commercial glass? Do you know how to read architectural plans and shop drawings? We are looking to add a Glass/Glazing Estimator with strong communication skills, a passion for the industry, and diverse commercial glass experience.
Candidate Profile: A successful candidate in this role is someone who is resourceful and detail oriented, with great time management and prioritization skills, and enjoys juggling multiple projects.
Essential functions: Learns and observes the process behind reviewing initial project contracts and how change orders are reviewed, compiled, and issued, asking questions to gain understanding to help aid in developing a plan for attaining budget profitability.
Reviews, compiles, and issues orders to determine project funding, contract type, and knows how to identify and communicate changes in scope of work, budget, and timelines.
Visit designated job sites as needed, determine logistics/equipment for installation, attend pre-construction meetings.
Perform material take-offs, discuss the difficulty of installation with superintendents.
Solicit quotations from vendors and subcontractors; include all project particulars in the quote, e.

, extended warranties.
Review quotes for accuracy and negotiate processes, prices, and terms with suppliers &/or customers as needed.
Effectively create and communicate RFI’s with general contractors and architects concerning all scope and related issues.
Prepare bid proposal by developing full scale project plans, obtaining, and reading architectural, shop drawings, specifications & cut sheets adhering to both national and local jurisdiction codes.

,) Estimating, closing & managing a portfolio of commercial glass projects with current and targeted general contractors Builds and maintain rapport with internal commercial department team, our external team members, and vendors that we partner with, including General Contractors, Designers, Architects, etc.
Presentation of bids to clients as needed.
After turnover, work with Project Manager as needed to ensure a full understanding of project information.
Stay up to date on industry trends and pricing changes.
Learns Go-Glass' mission, core values, services, policies, and operational procedures.
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
Skills & Aptitudes: General working knowledge of the process behind estimating, purchasing, reading architectural drawings and blueprints, and calculating material take-offs strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability of organizational, time management, and project management skills in a fast-paced environment required.
Exceptional Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry Knowledge of materials used in the glazing industry, including but not limited to fabricating curtainwalls, storefronts & entrances.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and a learner mentality required.
Elevated level of efficiency and accuracy.
Willingness to comply with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent intrapersonal skills with a high self-initiative with the ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
Strong computer skills working with various programs including MS Word and Excel Education and Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including project management & operations; commercial glazing preferred.
Worked successfully on medium-sized projects.
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); College degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
